IN THREE WORDS, HOW WOULD YOU BOTH DEFINE THE VALUES OF BEHR LASER & SKIN CARE CENTER?

HOW DOES YOUR APPROACH TO THE PRACTICE DIFFER FROM ONE ANOTHER?
Dr. Behr: I’ve gained so much knowledge over my years working with patients in this field and developed a sharp eye for identifying the best technology for them.
Nicole: With my background in business, I’ve sharpened my eye for what is trending and relevant to the industry. I’ve been fortunate to have the opportunity to help to expand the presence of the Behr brand locally and digitally.
WHY DID YOU START CARRYING OURSELF?
Dr. Behr: I met with the Ourself Skincare team and was immediately impressed as I learned more about the technology behind the brand! [Ourself]’s delivery system is unlike any other that we currently offer in our medical gradeskincare portfolio.
Nicole: It also didn’t look & feel like other medical grade skincare brands that I work with. I got to try Lip Filler & Lip Conditioner, which immediately had me hooked! With how many lip gloss products in the market these days, it’s really hard to stand out in - but this duo became my immediate go-to.
HOW HAVE PATIENTS RESPONDED?
Dr. Behr: We tend to hear phrases like “Botox in a bottle” regarding HA+ Replenishing Serum as patients are watching their wrinkles fade before their eyes.
Nicole: Patients responded clearly and swiftly! We couldn’t keep Lip Filler & Lip Conditioner in stock for long the first month or so of carrying them. Those were the first products to catch on, now HA+ Replenishing Serums are selling like hot cakes!
HOW DO YOU INCORPORATE OURSELF SKINCARE INTO THE TREATMENTS AND SERVICES YOU OFFER?
Dr. Behr: The conversation about skincare is incorporated into every step of our patient's journey. Speaking to Ourself specifically, Lip Filler is a great take-home option for my injectable patients who are fond of how their lips look while they are slightly swollen from treatment. For some patients, these products even offer an alternative for any patients that do not want to undergo in-office treatments, particularly the Lip Filler.
WHAT'S YOUR GO-TO PRODUCT?
We both LOVE the cleanser - the product itself is gorgeous with a slight shimmer to it. The “frothiness” of the foam is also perfect and leaves our skin feeling squeaky clean, but not stripped or tight. It is such a pleasant cleansing experience!
Dr. Behr: I haven’t been able to put down the HA+ Replenishing Serum - I am so glad I got my hands on this going into the winter months because it has been a savior for my skin.
Nicole: At this point I can’t live without the Lip Plumping & Enhancing Duo. The plump & slight flush of color I get from the Lip Filler really helps get me going in the morning - it’s like a reward for getting out of bed!
HOW DOES BEING A MOTHER/DAUGHTER DUO INFLUENCE THE PRACTICE?
Dr. Behr: It has been a true pleasure and wonderful for our practice to have Nicole work with us. With her wonderful marketing and art background and her interest in aesthetics brings a lot of fresh ideas to the practice.
Nicole: Family is in the DNA of our practice. As you could probably predict, my parents raised me with the same values that they used to run their business. This made it easy for me to jump into this extremely well established infrastructure and already have a firm grasp on how to operate.
FOR THE MOMS OUT THERE, COULD YOU SHARE YOUR OWN INSIGHTS INTO THE IMPORTANCE OF SELF-CARE, AND HOW YOUR PRACTICE PROMOTES THIS?
Dr. Behr: As a mother you try to teach your children about taking care of themselves, but living by example is the best teaching you can give. I love the feeling just sharing a smile with a friend or stranger can give me.
Nicole: I know that “mom guilt” is a real struggle for many mothers, and it can feel selfish to take time for yourself. However, I think moms need to reframe this to realize that prioritizing their own self care is in service to their family and their children, because it allows them to be the best version of themself which is an immeasurable benefit to their family. Our Moms are our first influencers, and we want to be just like them.
WHAT MOMENTS STAND OUT THAT EXEMPLIFY THE BOND YOU SHARE IN YOUR DAY TO DAY?
Dr. Behr: Just seeing the beautiful, smart, strong, and caring woman that Nicole has grown into really warms my heart. I love all the time we get to spend together in and outside of the office. We enjoy being around each other and sharing ideas.
Nicole: I absolutely love that we get to take girls trips together for work! We have traveled to Nashville, Chicago, Half Moon Bay, San Diego, LA, Santa Barbara, Las Vegas, and more. We share a room and go to the meetings together, then we get to have some fun! Some of my most cherished memories <3
